The Internal Revenue Service is now strongly encouraging the filing of past due tax returns. A return which has not been filed is being pursued through IRS substitutions. These back tax return filings are not generally in favor of the taxpayer.

Business & Financial Solutions' accountants, consultants and tax preparers are aware that most individuals, corporations and companies, who have not filed back taxes, may have problems with those tax years. For a free consultation call our accountants at (240) 403-0845. Our Rockville, MD firm will be able to provide you with a solution. If there is a liability, we may be able to assist you in getting a settlement on your personal or business taxes.

To help prevent problems with future tax problems for a small business, a good business plan is effective. Though preventing tax problems is not the only purpose for the business plan, having one could prove to be extremely beneficial.

Throughout the process of creating a business plan, you need to keep in mind the objective of the plan. Why are you writing the business plan? Is it to manage the business? Or is it to raise money for the business? Annual plans are used to manage a business. Business plans are used to attract capital. But there are exceptions, and often the difference between annual plans and business plans becomes muddled. Banks and other lenders or investors may require a copy of each year's annual plan. And management may use the start-up business plan as a basis for operating the business. Either way, a business plan should be written by a professional business plan writer or consultant, with a clear idea of what your goals for your business. Your business deserves the benefit of a good business plan.

For every successful business that was launched with a well-thought-out business plan, it seems you can find an equally successful one that was launched with nothing more than some scribbles on the back of a napkin. In fact, the contrarian approach may be the one you hear most about — i.e., entrepreneurs dismissing a business plan as something they wrote and then stuffed in the bottom of a drawer.
